If you have 10 minutes to spare: You could help us by dropping off brochures at a site in your community or respond to family surveys or phone interviews about First Steps.

If you have an hour to spare: You could write an article for our family newsletter or give a talk to a local organization about your positive experience with First Steps.

If you have a couple of hours to spare: You could help us staff a First Steps booth at a local health fair or help us plan and organize other special events.

If you want to get involved with advocacy for the First Steps program – become a family representative on one of the local committees that helps with First Steps activities.

Become a member of one of the local committees that promotes First Steps services in your community – Each of our counties has First Steps committees that help promote our services locally. These committees meet regularly and plan and organize activities that address needs in their community.

Make a financial contribution – help other families with children in need of developmental services!

A donation of any size supports Indiana’s Early Intervention Program, First Steps. First Steps is a a family centered, community based, coordinated system, which provides early intervention services to children birth to three years of age living in Indiana, who have developmental delays or are developmentally at risk. The Division of Family and Children (DFC), Bureau of Child Development (BCD) of the Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA) has been the lead agency since 1992. You can support Indiana’s Early Intervention program and services through a contribution to your local SPOE.
